I’m Nicony. A skilled and competitive Soccer Defender. I’m pursuing College and Professional Soccer. I’m also a Type 1 Diabetic. I’m here to show young T1D athletes that being T1D doesn’t stop me, it motivates me. If you have a learning disability or delay, do not feel bad. I have a learning delay and it’s more of a challenge to learn than others, but thankfully I have an IEP and have learned to advocate for myself. I’m also thankful to my teachers and my IEP team. I’m a senior in high school now and will be applying to colleges soon! Last but not least I am committed to being a Foster Child Advocate. I spent the first 7 years of my life in foster care. 10-15 foster homes (I lost count) and finally got a forever home with an amazing dad and big brother! I’m proud to say I am an Ex-Foster Kid, adopted for 11 years now! Soccer was one of the few things I could depend on while in the foster care system. Soccer was my escape. I watched soccer and played soccer when ever I could. I truly believe soccer is what saved me while in foster care. Follow me on my social media to see the rest of my journey to achieving my goals.
